Patient Experience Specialist

Location: SF Bay Area, Boston, Phoenix

Job Description

Story Health is an exciting new startup transforming healthcare through virtualization of patient and clinician experiences. Story Health is seeking a Patient Experience Specialist to join our team. You will facilitate patient support to optimize their medical therapy and serve as the liaison with the healthcare provider.

Responsibilities

  • Work with patients and their caretakers to increase engagement and help them overcome barriers in their healthcare journey
  • Guide patients through their changing medical therapies using a clinician designed protocol. Connecting patients back with their clinicians as needed when their condition changes
  • Serve as the interface between the patients and others in the healthcare system, including providers, clinics, pharmacies, etc
  • Be a key contributor to the early stages of an innovative health tech startup contributing wherever needed
  • Help inform Story Health’s clinical protocols to develop coach training, coaching process, as well as clinical curricula and content

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent degree required
  • Highly proficient written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers
  • Analytical skills required to problem solve patient issues and prepare reports
  • Strong customer service skills, with ability to identify problems and formulate solutions
  • Ability to handle conflict resolution and remain tolerant/flexible in all situations
  • Able to take on multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced, and changing team environment
  • Passion for implementing technology to improve healthcare and able to quickly learn and use new software and tool

Nice to Have

  • Clinical background and experience working directly with patients
  • Prior coaching/training or counseling experience
  • RN, NP, PA or other licensed practitioner
